Teenz
Teenz is a 2024 new Indian Tamil movie on ibomma directed by Radhakrishnan Parthiban adventure thriller film. The film has a cast of 13 teenagers along with the the actor/director of the film Parthiban. It is aimed at assembling the elements of thriller and adventure as well as Sci-Fi to portray the exciting adventurous life of a group of intelligent and energetic teenagers. The songs and the background score music are by D. Imman who has also earlier worked with Parthiban.
Plot and Storyline
Seven boys and five girls of age 12 years decided to run away skipping school to visit the village of Nakshatra’s grandmother after hearing the story of the haunted well. With them, we welcome Ayyankali who unlike these boys is an orphan who suffers from bullying. However their trip looks rather as turning into mysterious and quite suspicious as they meet a roadblock, fall and disappear places.
The trekkers then move even deeper into the village and get into another even more eerie section. Then one of their friend Shaun is missing, and then there is another Nafil who goes missing. Lost and scared the group met even more bizarre situations like hallucinations, wildlife, and even a python. On the other hand, we have an astrophysicist named Jana who said it is extraterrestrial activity related to a previous mission by NASA.
Performances
R. Parthiban plays the character of the knowledgeable astrophysicist Jana in the film. Their character gives both passion and ideas, and it pushes the plot to the sci-fi end of the movie. Kritika Iyer, Prashitha Nazir, and the other teen characters are fine, well-captured the adventurous positive aspect of the show and the horror feels as the mystery develops. Cameo roles are played by Yogi Babu as a comical drunkard and Baba Bhaskar as a bus conductor bringing the laughter department to the movie amid the thriller action movie.
Direction and Cinematography
With Teenz, Radhakrishnan Parthiban delivers new narrative concept which is the integration of adventure and science fiction with thriller genre. It keeps it interesting and alive from the very start right till the climax, has enough tension, though not extremely dark as some of his other works, has enough emotions to poke, and enough plot points to twist and turn the film with. The foreground that has been given to lenses and cams is well worth watching especially in scenes shot in the forest and the extraterrestrial craft sequences perfectly fit the making of this type of movie.
Music
Music department: It gets good marks with D. Imman in ensemble for the types of feelings adventurous and eerie in the flick. Nice songs are there as “Kaanaathathai Naan Kandeney,” and “Vaanamey Kaanomey” sung by Shreya Ghoshal along with Harish Sivaramakrishnan etc. The song and musics of the film include melodic type of songs up to upbeat and timely songs and music such as the film music ‘We Are The Teenz’.
Themes and Message
In general, Teenz focuses the themes such as friendship, courage, and the transition from teenage to adulthood. It also analyses the results, curiosity and influence of others, and a new hero of the text emerges as a rather unconventional one – Ayyankali. It can be interpreted as a satire of human curiosity and space travel and the danger of knowing what is hidden. But at the same time, the movie discusses topics as severe as honour killing, so, between fairy dust and stardust Sagnik, the movie makes a social comment.

Teenz: Teenage Fun and Sci-fi Mystery is an action-filled roller coaster ride depicting teenage fun and a base of sci-fi mystery. It is for that reason this movie might be tagged one of the best that was out in 2024 in Tamil cinema all thanks to Radhakrishnan Parthiban as director, cast, and the script of the film. The combination of genres ranging from adventure, thriller and even science fiction eliminates any chance of it not being popular with children as well as adults.
